It is almost that time of year…Back to School! Students and parents alike are busy determining what supplies kids will need to bring to school this coming year. Schools normally send out lists of necessary items, such as pencils, notebooks, folders, highlighters, crayons and more, dependent on the grade. All of these supplies can get quite costly, so NBC4 is once again partnering up with Apple Federal Credit Union for Backpacks 4 Kids! Donated backpacks and school supplies will be given to area children in need so they can start school off on the right foot.
On Wednesday, August 24th, NBC4’s Erika Gonzalez and Amelia Draper will be at the Kingstowne branch (6831 Sir Viceroy Drive, Alexandria, VA 22315) from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM to accept your donations! We are planning to be there as well, so please come on by to say hi! Here is our photo of the event last year, when some of our team members met Angie Goff and Lauryn Ricketts.
Can’t make it next week, or live closer to another location? Backpack donations are also being accepted at all area Apple branches through August 31st; just look for the yellow collection box in the lobby.
Here is a list of suggested supplies:
Loose-leaf paper
#2 pencils
Cap erasers
Spiral notebooks
Yellow highlighters
Binders
Folders
Dividers
Crayons or colored pencils
Glue sticks
For more information, you can go to NBC4 or Apple Federal Credit Union. Both websites also offer the opportunity to donate securely online.
As always, if there is anything we can help you with, please let us know! Whether you are selling, buying or renting or just want a restaurant recommendation, we are happy to assist.
