Southampton is an upscale community of 37 grand Basheer and Edgemoore built single-family homes nestled amongst trees in Springfield. Residents enjoy highly desired privacy from their wooded .30 to .94 acre lots. This community is in a fabulous tucked-away location, but is so close to everything. It is well situated off the Fairfax County Parkway with easy access to the Springfield Transportation Center, which houses Metro, VRE and Greyhound facilities. Interstates 495/395/95 are super-close, making travel throughout the region a breeze. Residents can easily access HOV lanes from the Parkway as well. Whether you are heading downtown, out to Tyson’s Corner or over the Woodrow Wilson Bridge into Maryland, you are well on your way from here. Just a bit further down the Parkway, you can catch Route 29 or Interstate 66 out to Fairfax, Centreville or other points west. Local military establishments include Fort Belvoir, the Pentagon, Fort Myer, 2 Coast Guard stations, Andrews and Bolling Air Force Bases and the Navy Yard.
Tyson’s Corner Center and Tyson’s Galleria are the places to go for serious shopping adventures. Located only about 15 minutes away, they both feature a mix of department stores, specialty shops, upscale boutiques and great restaurants. Shirlington boasts a great mix of entertaining and dining choices including many outdoor eateries. Locally, the Kingstowne Town Center provides many useful resources for Southampton residents. It features a 16-screen Regal Cinema, 2 grocery stores, a dry cleaner, shops and restaurants. Dining choices include Bonefish Grill, Pasara, Macaroni Grill, Panera Bread and Firehouse Subs.
