Pohick Bay Regional Park and Golf Course are great places to spend an afternoon. This water oriented park features a boat launch facility and is only one of three public access points to the Potomac River in Northern Virginia. There are canoes, kayaks, paddle boats and john boats for rent on the weekends. According to their website, Pohick Bay offers one of the largest outdoor, free-form pools on the east coast for those interested in swimming. Other highlights include camping, hiking, picnic shelter areas, a children’s play area and an abundance of wildlife. The golf course is consistently named one of the area’s most challenging courses by local golf magazines; aside from the scenic course, it features a pro shop, a practice facility and a full snack bar. Several historical attractions such as Mount Vernon, Gunston Hall and Woodlawn Plantation are well located near Worthington Woods.

This community is ideally situated near all of the area’s major transportation routes. The Fairfax County Parkway and Route 1 provide easy access to the Beltway and Interstates 395 and 95. Lorton Station has a convenient VRE station, which provides service to the Franconia-Springfield Metro, Old Town, Crystal City, L’Enfant Plaza and Union Station. Bus service is readily available for travel throughout the area. The Lorton Station Town Center features a medical center, shops, service providers and restaurants. Current tenants include Salon Prive, KC Pharmacy, Curves for Women, Pane e Vino, Fireside Grill and Vocelli Pizza. American Barbeque is a great restaurant located just down the street on Telegraph Road.
